Main Character:
-Jean Louise Finch - She is intelligent and, by the standards of her time and place, a tomboy. Scout has a combative streak and a basic faith in the goodness of the people in her community.

-Atticus Finch - Scout and Jem’s father. A lawyer in Maycomb descended from an old local family.
-Jeremy Atticus Finch - Scout’s brother and constant playmate at the beginning of the story. He's fantasizing in playing football.
-Arthur “Boo” Radley - A recluse who never sets foot outside his house, Boo dominates the imaginations of Jem, Scout, and Dill. A powerful symbol of goodness, an intelligent child.

The Action/Summary of What Happened in the Story

  -The childhood innocence with which Scout and Jem begin the novel is threatened by numerous incidents that expose the evil side of human nature, most notably the guilty verdict in Tom Robinson’s trial and the vengefulness of Bob Ewell.
  -Scout, Jem, and Dill become fascinated with their mysterious neighbor Boo Radley and have an escalating series of encounters with him.
  -Watching the trial, Scout, and especially Jem, cannot understand how a jury could possibly convict Tom Robinson based on the Ewells’ clearly fabricated story.
  -The verdict forces Scout and Jem to confront the fact that the morals Atticus has taught them cannot always be reconciled with the reality of the world and the evils of human nature.
  -When word spreads that Tom Robinson has been shot while trying to escape from prison, Jem struggles to come to terms with the injustice of the trial and of Tom Robinson’s fate.
  -The sheriff, knowing that Boo, like Tom Robinson, would be misunderstood and likely convicted in a trial, protects Boo by saying that Ewell tripped and fell on his own knife.

  -The problem was when Mr. Atticus fought for the case and all of the people are against his family because of that. Since jean had faith in his father and but Tom got killed.

· What are your thoughts about the book? (did you or didn’t you like it and why?)
  - the book seemed nice but there are parts of the story wherein I cant understand that much. But im glad that even though my impression of the book at first was “oh, this book will be boring” but then I realized that the moral story is the one that counts.

Kino – The father of Coyotito and the wife of Juana. He's the one who saw the scorpion on Coyotito. He's the one who saw the pearl and fighting for it against the thieves.
Juana- wife of Kino. The mother of Coyotito. She's the one who's trying to stop kino in selling the pearl because its evil
Coyotito- the infant son of Kino and Juana. The one who died.

Neighbors – they are the one who accompanied the family to see the local doctor
Doctor – the one who refuses to help coyotito because Kino cannot pay
Thief – they are the one who want to steal the pearl found by Kino

IV Plot: The Action/Summary of What Happened in the Story


kino saw a scorpion in coyotito and the scorpion stings the baby. They went to the doctor but the doctor refused because kino can't afford.
Because kino needs a money he went to the ocean and he found a pearl.
Kino attempted to sell the pearl so that he can marry juana and he can give a good education to their son coyotitio.
Because of the pearls fame their family was attacked by the tracker.
Kino fought the tracker so that he can protect his family.
Kino and juana went back to the village with their dead son coyotito and threw back the pearl.

V Theme

 The story is all about a man which was blinded by the fame of the pearl that leads to a bad situations that happening in their family. There's a good moral in this story because it makes people realizes that all the things that comes in life has its own purpose for which it will either bring them bad or good happenings.

I have learned in this story that we should give importance not just on material things. We also need to assess every things big or small that comes in our life. Because everything has its own purpose.

One of the problem in the story is on how they'll escape from the trackers because it will attack kino's family. And as a solution they escape to the mountains and hide in the cave.


VI Evaluation of the Book

I like this book because it gives a good moral to the people particularly in a family. It also gives a lesson on every move a man does, that they need to think first before taking any actions. Because now a days people are blinded by fame and fortune that they forget the things that happening in their live.
